Power Series is the latest addition to Zero-Max's proven range of composite disc couplings (CD® couplings). Building on decades of experience, the CD Power Series is engineered with higher power density, providing greater torque capacity in a smaller and more compact solution. The series also uses the proven composite disc technology that has made Zero-Max the engineers’ preferred choice for the most demanding motion control applications. From the initial idea to the high-quality manufacturing processes, the CD Power Series is designed for precise operation at high torques.
Delivering backlash-free operation and high torsional stiffness, the Power Series offers a wide range of new standardised mounting options including clamping hubs (integrated clamping hub and split clamping hub), shrink disc hubs, flange mounts compatible with ISO 9409-1 mounting specifications and flange hub solutions. These flexible shaft couplings are designed and manufactured for servo-rated performance in the most demanding conditions - including applications with motion profiles that include repetitive speed changes, start/stop, indexing, reversing and more.
Zero-Max was the first to develop a composite coupling years ago and has since become the standard choice for OEMs who need performance beyond what a metal disc coupling can deliver. Our CD couplings support high rotational speeds and aggressive motion profiles while eliminating the fatigue and fretting corrosion often seen in metal disc designs, resulting in a longer service life. The Power Series builds on this proven technology with a premium solution that offers higher power density and the ability to transmit higher torque on a smaller diameter - so even today's most demanding applications can be met.
Power and performance
CD Power Series clutches are equipped with a stiffer disc package, which enables higher torque transfer in a smaller outer diameter clutch.
Although the ability to accommodate misalignment is reduced compared to our traditional CD couplers, it is still on par with metal disc couplers, providing a high-performance solution where space is limited.
These latest flexible shaft couplings from Zero-Max are available in single-flex, double-flex and customised versions to meet even the most demanding applications.

Power Series flexible coupling options
Single-Flex Power Series composite couplings
CD Power Series Single-Flex composite disc couplings offer the highest torsional rigidity combined with limited parallel shaft misalignment. These shaft couplings provide the most compact solution and are available with a full range of standard hubs and various customisation options.
Double-Flex Power Series composite couplings
CD Power Series Double-Flex composite disc couplings have a greater overall length, allowing them to accommodate larger shaft displacements with lower reaction forces than the Single-Flex version. These Double-Flex shaft couplings are also available with the full range of standard hubs and customisation options.
